Long Haul Truck Driver

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods over long distances, and ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our transportation operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate and drive trucks to transport goods over long distances, following predetermined routes and schedules.
2. Ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
3. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and mechanical components to ensure roadworthiness.
4. Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while driving, including hours of service regulations.
5. Maintain accurate logbooks and records of working hours, vehicle inspections, and mileage.
6. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.
7. Monitor weather and road conditions to ensure safe driving conditions, adjusting routes as necessary to avoid delays or hazards.
8. Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical failures to the appropriate authorities and follow company procedures for handling such situations.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck cab and cargo area, including regular cleaning and inspection for any maintenance needs.
10. Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and the public, positively representing the company at all times.

Requirements:

1. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) with a clean driving record.
2. 2 years of experience is a must
3. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service requirements.
4. Excellent driving skills, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
5. A clean driving record, as well as sound knowledge of truck maintenance.
6. Supervising the loading and unloading of freight, and obtaining the client's signature on delivery.
7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
9. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
10. Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional service.
11. Undergo drug testing and background checks as required by the company.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Additional certifications or training in transportation or logistics.
2. Certificate of Completion of a professional truck driving course preferred.
3. Experience operating specialized equipment or handling hazardous materials.
4. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other tracking technology.
5. Experience with long-distance travel and navigating diverse terrain and weather conditions.
6. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a long-haul truck driver.
