Aloha! Our Hospitality division is growing and we are looking for On-Call Kitchen Helpers to join our team for upcoming events. This position is On-Call as it is based on when there are events, so it is perfect for those who are already working and looking for flexible work.
The Kitchen Helpers assists in all back of the house Kitchen operations for one of the largest state-of-the-art kitchens in Hawaii. They handle volume events and the work is very labor intensive.
Schedule: On-Call based on events
Pay: $16.00/hr, up to $640 per week
Location: Ala Moana/Waikiki

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares ingredients for cold appetizers, Hors d'oeuvre, salad, sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, cold sauces and condiments.
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
- Has thorough knowledge of cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Has thorough knowledge of portioning food products prior to production according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, mixers, refrigerator equipment etc....
- Has knowledge of proper presentation and garnish set up for all food plated or buffet.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
- Assists in plating assignments as assigned by the Chef on Duty.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chef on Duty.
Job Requirements:
- Must have or be able to obtain a white chef’s coat.
- Must have own knives.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Must have black non-slip shoes.
- Must take direction well and be able to adapt.
- Loading and offloading heavy equipment (up to 50lbs) and deliver to event rooms.
- Comfortable with labor duties including but not limited to standing, walking, push, pull, lifting, kneeling for long periods of time.
- Must be able to report to work on time if not early.
