The Designer is responsible for collaborating in a team approach to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information during the Development phase of a project. To assist the clients in creating an innovative and beautiful project. Starting from the Initial Design Meeting to the completion of a project.


Responsibilities:

Leads/Clients

  • Provide the best customer service as possible to keep a positive experience for the client, so they refer us to their friends and family and/or use us for future projects.
  • Engage with clients emotionally.
  • Provide them with a design that is better than they ever imagined. Create a one-of-a-kind design customized to their needs &wishes, but most importantly to stay within their budget expectations.
  • Meet with potential clients to see the job, photograph, and take preliminary measurements/notes.
  • Present drawings at Design Presentation including 2-3 options and 3D renderings.
  • Obtain quotes for cabinets and countertops for each project and establish accurate pricing for the selections. Give quotes to the Sales with notes to succeed.
  • Order designer-specific items and approve invoices on these items.
  • Maintain positive communication with the Homeowner throughout the project via constant telephone, fax, mail, or email.
  • Prepare closeout documents for all projects. IE: Allowances, selection sheet, etc.
  • Nurture existing, past, and potential clients via email, letters, brochures, and phone communication. This is our livelihood- cultivate it.

Administrative

  • Keep staff updated of new products and ideas being asked about by vendors/clients.
  • Keep library and showroom samples updated and organized.
  • Assist with trade shows, open houses, and industry events. IE: meetings with ASID, NARI, etc.
  • Answer phones as needed.
  • Attend continuing education seminars, and product knowledge groups, keep updated on current pricing, new product introduction, and industry trends.
  • Assist in generating leads to fuel the pipeline and assist in keeping the pipeline updated.
  • Mis-ordered, miscalculated fancy items handled solely by you, accepting responsibility, and working vendor for discount to reduce monies loss. You must produce a written document clarifying mistakes, the total of mistakes, & time delay.
Requirements:

· 10 years experience in residential drafting, architecture, or design in the Design-Build industry

· Must be able to draw and design additions, whole house remodels, and interior details, and have knowledge of home construction and remodeling

· Experience in Chief Architect a plus

· Highly organized

· Excellent communicator

· Takes direction well from a team of individuals

· Willing to work on multiple projects at once will be required

· People person that comes off well in person & unplanned
