Crown Laboratories, Inc. is currently recruiting for an Associate Research Scientist. The Associate Research Scientist is responsible for assisting the Research Scientist and the Formulation Sciences department in the development of new products from concept to commercialization to support company growth. This position is in Johnson City TN

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing formulations for OTC Skin Care, Cosmetic, Toiletries and Hair Care products.
• Conduct routine development and non-routine laboratory analyses such as raw material testing, finished product testing, stability testing, and manufacturing in-process testing which requires high levels of accuracy.
• Evaluate process changes and troubleshoot analytical problems as they arise.
• Help establish guidelines and specifications for acceptance and testing of chemical raw materials and finished product.
• Conducting research, gather documentation and experiments to develop claim substantiation.
• Assists with formulation changes of existing formulations to improve product cost.
• Assists with preparation of product registration documentation and product chemistry packages to meet regulatory requirements.
• Properly document all experimental work neatly and correctly and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Participates in team driven activities to facilitate ongoing production improvements and/or new product development projects.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Related Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other related discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in cosmetic/personal care, OTC, Toiletries & Hair Care formulation development.
• Prefer familiarity with OTC/Cosmetic regulatory requirements and cGMP.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with the ability to communicate complex data effectively.
• Must possess the ability and desire to prioritize workload, multi-task and manage time effectively.
