The 4 Diamond Westin Richmond is searching for a Full Time / Part Time AM Line Cook.


POSITION PURPOSE

A Cook provides a dining experience to our guests by preparing high quality meals. The Cook's main goal is to ensure that our guests will always enjoy exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate must be innovative, creative, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with good oral communication and interpersonal relationship skills. The Westin Richmond is a distinctive premium hotel that is looking for associates with a passion for culinary arts. This position can be a great entrance into other food and beverage roles. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner
  • Maintain high standards for plate presentations and specifications
  • Prepare menu items according to Hotel specific recipes
  • Be prepared to work on the line, prep for banquets or future shifts, and cook bulk meals for banquets
  • Practice sanitation and safety daily to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Cleanliness of the food service area and equipment is top priority
  • Clean and sanitize the work area before, during, and after shift
  • Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects
  • Set up/ breakdown work station
  • Maintain/ control inventory of food stock and supplies
  • Stock items using the FIFO (first in/first out) method. Date items newly received/ prepared
  • Must possess the ability to physically handle knives, pots, mirrors, or other display items as well as grasp, lift and carry these items from shelves to other areas of the kitchen
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs
  • Demonstrate an ability to use and handle various kitchen machinery, such as: slicers, buffalo chopper, grinders, mixers and other kitchen related equipment
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain proper food and supply storage
  • Other duties as requested by a supervisor
