Who We Are

Action for Children is the local child care resource and referral agency in Central Ohio. Our mission is to transform the lives of children by supporting, empowering, and advocating for the adults who make the biggest impact on children’s lives—their parents, caregivers, and teachers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assess participants to determine barriers/issues to responsible fatherhood
  • Work with program participants to design an Individual Service Plan (ISP) to address identified needs
  • Establish regular meetings to review progress and advise on ISP
  • Work collaboratively with other program staff to assure participants’ success
  • Provide referrals to services and continuing education as needed
  • Encourage participants as they move through the service delivery process
  • Achieve program goals as agreed
  • Provide mentoring opportunities as appropriate
  • Document consistently and accurately, in real time, all participant contact, activities and outcomes
  • Assure completion of intake and out-take processes and documentation

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • A demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients/program participants
  • Knowledge of community resources and services
  • Ability to work with individuals of various backgrounds and cultures
  • Proven ability to maintain timely and accurate records/data for program reporting
  • Proficiency with technology and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus (not required)
  • A desire to contribute to a workplace and profession which values collaboration, diversity, growth, and respect for all people

You have demonstrated strong skills in written and verbal communication, building rapport, analysis and problem-solving. You are committed to the success of the program and the team, dedicating the time necessary for team meetings and agency events. You want to work full time and have a flexible schedule that can require some weekend hours.
