Packaging Lead - Production (WOR)

Job Description
Packaging Team Leads play a key role in the management of the packaging department. A Team Lead is responsible for carrying out all daily packaging, labeling, and cleaning procedures that maintain Temescal Wellness’ highest standards of high-quality cannabis medicines for our patients and customers, as well as ensuring that Associates have the support and training needed during their shifts. Leads package cannabis and cannabis-infused products into their shelf-ready state for sale at our dispensaries. They closely adhere to all Packaging SOPs and policies and closely inspect products for quality assurance, flaws, and imperfections. They are also responsible for maintaining the high standard of cleanliness that our state-of-the-art cannabis production facility requires. Leads will utilize their great organizational skills and attention to detail while packaging a variety of high-quality cannabis medicines and products in strict compliance with state and local rules and regulations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist and oversee packaging associates package cannabis according to schedule provided by manager via Google Drive and METRC
  • Distribute products and tasks to production associates, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulations and procedures
  • Assist in holding production associates accountable for packaging errors
  • Package cannabis product as demand requires
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy of packaging SOPs, including updating SOPs as appropriate
  • Tag and track all cannabis products in the METRC inventory system 
  •  Log all packages details in QA sheet 
  • Communicate with Manager regarding: daily completed packages, personnel updates, outstanding details etc. via EOD email  
  • Perform Quality Assurance procedures on all daily completed packages by end of day
  • Oversee daily cleaning routines and activities
  • Follow and execute the company's standard operating procedures
  • Identify test results, create labels in Bartender, print labels in Bartender, enters test results in Bartender, ensuring accuracy across all fields
  • Attend weekly department meetings regarding all new updates, providing granular details as required 
  • Track time-to-task of all SOP steps for Bill-of-Materials information biannually
  • Train new employees on packaging SOPs and general procedures
  • Maintains training logs for all new trainings and new team members
  • Transport products to and from the vaults for packaging, both virtually and physically, assisting in vault organization
  • Assists in all monthly cannabis audits, identifying discrepancies as necessary 
Requirements
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High energy, enthusiasm and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to work with uniformity
  • Data entry skills
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Detail-oriented
  • Time management skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods
  • Can physically lift up to, not exceeding, 50lbs
  • Ability to complete multiple projects with excellent follow-through
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with METRC seed-to-sale software
  • Ability to use Test Result Labeling Calculator 
  • Knowledge of labeling compliance for each product
  • Experience with the use of Metrc and Bartender, Ability to print labels from premade templates
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts policies and regulations governing recreational/medical cannabis production
  • Experience training and supervising others
  • Outstanding problem-solver
