Prelude Services is a Managed Service Provider that has delivered innovative and secure IT services for over 25 years. Prelude's corporate office is located in Mechanicsburg, PA, while this position is located in Quincy, Illinois. This part-time IT Support Specialist position is onsite for 20 hours a week in Quincy, IL, Monday through Friday during general business hours.

You will constantly interact with client management and staff regarding computer technology services and equipment issues. Your attitude displayed is a representation of Prelude and our core values, and therefore effective communication skills are required to accurately interpret customer needs and take appropriate action. You must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a customer-focused environment, manage time and organize work effectively, and be proactive and enthusiastic.

As the IT Support Specialist, reporting to the Director of Desktop Support Services, you will be responsible for providing remote and on-site technical assistance to our clients, including general assistance or end-user training, by responding to requests submitted to the IT Service Desk. You will provide technical support for personal computer hardware, application software, operating systems, mobile devices, and connectivity to networks. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware or software while ensuring optimal device performance. As the onsite resource, you will assist second level support as needed with installation and basic troubleshooting of infrastructure equipment and servers.

You will need:

  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in desktop support and configuration.
  • Strong skills with the installation, setup, repair, and patching of computers and related peripherals.
  • Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • General knowledge of desktop architecture, mobile devices, and printers.
  • General knowledge of network hardware (switches, routers, UPS) and network fundamentals (TCP/IP)
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite in a business environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
