About George Junior Republic:

Founded in 1909, George Junior Republic is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship and a better understanding of his responsibility to society, family and self. Preventative Aftercare was established as an affiliate of GJR in 1993 and is a community-based program serving youth, families, and adults in communities and schools.

Summary of the position: The Regional Director will provide oversight and supervision to Preventative Aftercare staff members and supervisors. Required to complete all assigned duties as outlined below, while maintaining best practice standards and fully supporting staff.

The Regional Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of community based mental health services in Franklin and Madison Counties in Ohio, and Fayette, Westmoreland, Mercer, Clarion, Indiana, and Warren Counties in Pennsylvania.

The Regional Director is also responsible for providing oversight to the Mobile Medication community-based program in Washington County and supervising the grant-funded Restore (adult balanced and restorative justice program) in Westmoreland County.

The Regional Supervisor has four direct reports and reports to the Preventative Aftercare Director.

This is a mobile position and travel is required across the region served.

Description of Duty

Supervision

  • Provide and document monthly face-to-face (or zoom) supervision of assigned supervisors. This will include a combination of clinical supervision, overseeing program design, adherence to Policy and Procedures, clinical productivity target adherence, and financial balance of revenue and expenses.
  • Attend staff meetings in each region quarterly.
  • Review supervisors’ Supervision Logs to ensure compliance
  • Ensure availability to staff for crisis intervention, case review, supportive supervision, and training.
  • Provide coverage for supervisor absences and attend court hearings, case conferences, and staffing(s), as needed.
  • Monitor caseload utilization, keeping programs at full operating capacity.
  • Review all daily case notes, required documentation, files on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that clinical records are accurate, current, and meet program standards.
  • Monitor, review and proof all clinical summaries and communication to counties.
  • Monitor stipend and activity account funds usage.
  • Monitor and document supervisor compliance with Preventative Aftercare policies and procedures.
  • Problem-solve and process clinical issues, performance issues and program issues with supervisors in regular supervision and on as-needed basis.

Referral Coordination

  • Meet with referral agencies at least quarterly. Must be aware of changing agency personnel and ensure all staff and direct supervisors are informed.
  • Maintain regular contact with supervisors to ensure referral agencies are provided vacancy updates as well as monitor any waiting lists.

Program Administration

  • Provide extensive and on-going support and training for all new and current Preventative Aftercare employees around clinical practice, policy and procedures, cell phone use, report-writing, monthly caseload changes/billing and other required tasks.
  • Assist in development of on-going policy and procedure, informational brochures and promotion of Preventative Aftercare.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors to review program issues, revenue streams, program numbers, communicate changes, discuss outcomes and explore program/personnel needs.
  • Develop forms for reporting requirements, as needed.

Marketing

  • Market the Preventative Aftercare program to ensure expansion outside of assigned territories.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative community relationships with respective counties and be available and visible.

Financial Reporting

  • Approve supervisor expenses, ensuring staff are being fiscally responsible.
  • Review monthly admissions and discharges to ensure accuracy and submit all billing documentation to the appropriate individual as required.
  • Monitor monthly financial goals to ensure programs are operating efficiently.

Data Management

  • Collect all client data, statistics and follow-up information to compile program outcomes, as needed.

Compliance

  • Comply with all Mandated Reporting, Duty to Warn and Duty to Protect Laws.
  • Oversee the flow of all written reports to maintain quality and timeliness.
  • Ensure Satisfaction and Outcome questionnaires are completed routinely and timely.
  • Ensure monthly MI Coding from each direct report.

Human Resources: Recruitment, Training and Employee Engagement

  • Ensure and facilitate professional growth of staff.
  • Oversee supervisors screening, interviewing, and identifying viable candidates. Obtain approval for new hire contingent salary from Director of PAC and GJR HR Officer. Oversee supervisors onboarding and training new staff.
  • Ensure staff schedules meet client and program needs including following Overtime policy for non-exempt staff. Approve supervisor timesheets in ADP.
  • Complete annual Performance Evaluations for all Preventative Aftercare supervisors , collaboratively discussing and documenting individual professional development goals.
  • In conjunction with the Director of PAC and HR, determine the need for additional staff or programs and recruit, interview, hire and train new staff.

Other Administrative

  • Support Preventative Aftercare’s mission, strategic plan, and goals while carrying out daily responsibilities.
  • Assist the Director of PAC , as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field

Licensure

Preferred

Years of Experience

Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in related field. Understanding of evidence-based practices preferred.

Computer Experience

Basic skills in Microsoft word and Excel

Other

  • Act 33/34 clearances as provided by Child Protective Services Law 23 PA C.S. 16301 and FBI Clearances, Adam Walsh Act 147
  • Valid PA state license.
  • Auto insurance coverage for $100,000/$300,000.
  • Knowledge of individual behavior.
  • General understanding of the assessment and treatment of behavioral health.
