OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is a member of company senior management team. The SPM is accountable for assignment of projects, development of direct report Project Managers and profit/loss of projects. The SPM is also responsible for measurement and forecasting project financial performance and reporting to executive leadership. The SPM is accountable to confirm company Project Management systems are implemented as well as execution of contract and work to ensure meeting margin expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for execution of contracted work in a profitable manner. Meeting or exceeding anticipated gross margins
  • Confirm accurate measurement, forecast and reporting of project financials
  • Lead and implement company safety program creating a “best in class” safety culture
  • Manage and lead respective Project Management Group to maximize profitability through operational excellence and human resource strategies. These include:
    1. Managing and leading Project Managers in accordance with company strategy
    2. Proper implementation of company Project Management system and tactics
    3. Collaborate with foremen to maximize operational efficiencies including productivity
    4. Regular collaboration with Project Managers to discuss project status, forecasts and contractual issues in a proactive manner
  • Meet or exceed operational required results for Project Management along with continual improvement procedures
  • Interface with CAD Department and shops to ensure proper implementation of fabrication and lean construction methods to maximize margins, quality and safety
  • Oversee project procurement to ensure cost savings and timely deliveries of major subcontracts, major equipment and long lead items
  • Ensure proper staffing capacity within budgeted overhead
  • Work with Regional and Executive Leadership to ensure proper staffing in relation to Contractual obligations and budgeted overhead.

    1. Seeking out and maintaining professional relationships with our Contractual clients.
    2. Maintaining professional relationships with our Client Solutions team.
    3. Maintaining trade specific affiliations with organizations will improve our position in the marketplace.

QUALIFICIATONS & TRAINING

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in related discipline is desirable and or equivalent work and field experience. Certification may be required in some areas
  • Individual projects over $5MM and portfolio management greater than $15MM
  • Ability to work with labor unions and continually improve management relations and efficiencies
  • Must have integrity including enthusiasm and willingness to represent company in professional, charitable and social communities/organizations
