Reports to: Fabrication Supervisor

Employment Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Shift: 12-Hour Shift (Days 6am - 6pm)

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Lead is responsible for the supervising the fabrication operations for a particular crew. The ideal Fabrication Lead is an individual who can maintain and improve EP’s production metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Scrap and Efficiency) while also training, directing, and supervising fabrication team members on their crew.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Production and Quality

  • Run Huddle Board meetings for every shift.
  • Ensure pull sheets are out for stations needing work in process inventory for the current and immediately following shift in a timely manner.
  • Reviews schedule requirements in conjunction with “Hot List” and coordinates available resources accordingly.
  • Set up stations and train associates.
  • Learn various fabrication stations and be able to run them.
  • Be familiar with Quality (QCS) folders and be able to teach other associates how to use them.
  • Quality check all finished goods prior to scanning into inventory.
  • Use strong judgement in making quality decisions, escalating to Quality department personnel when needed.
  • Disposition all finished goods completed prior to shift end.
  • Responsible for achieving production efficiency metrics on their shift.
  • Work with other departments when needed to allocate labor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate Relations

  • Foster a positive relationship with all production associates on their shift, with a particular emphasis to helping new hires become successful.
  • Enforce Company policies and address and report any discipline issues on the shift.
  • Maintain the associate recognition program.

Safety and Policies

  • Responsible for holding associates responsible for following safety guidelines and standards.
  • Ensures incident reports are completed in a timely manner after an injury or incident.
  • Alert management to any security concerns that arise during a shift.

Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to work while standing for long periods.

Preferred

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working across departments in a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in training associates and driving process improvements.

Desired

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and time sensitive work that can change rapidly.
  • Displays consistent desire to do more than is asked to help coordinate processes in order achieve department goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct reports, responsible for all assigned hourly production associates on crew.
