POSITION SUMMARY
The Cashier is responsible for cash transactions in food and beverage areas. Performs all monetary transactions presented, adhering to all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. Safeguards company assets and prepares all necessary paperwork. Is responsible to provide a level of service which is gracious, kind, and warm that provides an exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm with our guests. The employee will have extensive menu knowledge, greet the guest, anticipate their needs, seat them and tender payments. Focus on departmental goals of - Consistency, Quality and Sense of Urgency.


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for being punctual to pre-shift meeting with a positive attitude and openly participate
  • Consistently provide excitement and deliver world class service, as well as live the company core values
  • Safeguard company assets and adheres to all policies and procedures
  • Maintain and be held accountable for all funds entrusted to the employee on an assigned shift
  • Create teamwork by helping co-workers with essential function
  • Balance all money transactions and paperwork
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to include strict adherence to attendance and appearance guidelines as well as confidentially regarding guest information
  • Be alert for fraud, forged/counterfeit currency and/or vouchers
  • Balance all funds under his/her responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports accordingly
  • Operate the Point-Of-Sale System according to training provided
  • Clean as you go, clean spills immediately
  • Use chemicals as prescribed and responsibly
  • Ensure all chemicals are in properly labeled containers
  • Ensure the cash inventory is secured at all times
  • Accept and confirm reservations
  • Responsible for behaving in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous, and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests, and outside contacts
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Extended time on your feet


JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. Cashiering experience preferred. Must have a friendly demeanor and be able to communicate well with the public. Must be able to work in an intense and fast paced environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform required job duties. Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance. Must have an optimistic outlook, proven track record of leading, inspiring, and proven track record of success in service excellence. Attention to quality details, great communication skills and know how to deliver excitement.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino
  • Obtain required license(s)
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco
  • Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department
  • Knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls
  • Responsible for taking the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of
