**Overview:**

Established brewery in Pullman, WA is seeking a Head Brewer. Paradise Creek Brewery has been in business since 2010 and has been an integral part of Pullman and WSU's community. As a key member of our brewery, you will primarily be responsible for overseeing the brewing process independently on our 15bbl system. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a passion for cleanliness, and exceptional time management skills to ensure the production of high-quality craft beverages.


**Key Responsibilities:**


  1. **Brewing Operations:** Execute all aspects of the brewing process from start to finish, including milling, mashing, boiling, fermenting, and packaging. Follow recipes meticulously while also possessing the ability to make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
  2. **Quality Assurance:** Maintain a keen eye for quality throughout the brewing process. Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process beer, and finished products to ensure consistency and excellence in flavor, aroma, and appearance.
  3. **Sanitation and Cleanliness:** Uphold strict cleanliness and sanitation protocols in all areas of the brewery, including equipment, tanks, and production areas. Implement and maintain a rigorous cleaning schedule to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity.
  4. **Inventory Management:** Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
  5. **Maintenance and Troubleshooting:** Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on brewing equipment to ensure optimal functionality and prevent downtime. Identify and address any equipment issues promptly to minimize disruption to production schedules.
  6. **Documentation and Record-Keeping:** Maintain accurate records of brewing activities, including batch logs, inventory levels, quality control checks, and equipment maintenance schedules. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.


**Requirements:**


  1. Proven experience in brewing operations, preferably in a craft brewery or similar environment.
  2. Strong understanding of brewing fundamentals, including recipe formulation, fermentation, and quality control.
  3. Exceptional cleanliness and sanitation practices with a meticulous attention to detail.
  4. Proficient time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  5. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members when necessary.
  7. Flexibility with some hours to work weekends, and holidays for Brew fests and as production requires
  8. Must be able to operate a forklift


**Preferred Qualifications:**


  1. Formal brewing education or certification
  2. Experience with operating and maintaining brewing equipment, including brewhouse, fermenters, and packaging machinery, we have a canning line, and occasionally fill bottles.
  3. Familiarity with brewery software (Ekos) for inventory management and production planning.
  4. Passion for craft beer and a desire to contribute to the growth and success of the brewery.


**Physical Requirements**

  1. Must be able to work on your feet for 6-10 hours
  2. Must be able to work in hot, wet, and loud environment
  3. Must be able to work with and around steam, electricity and potentially hazardous chemicals and solvents
  4. Continual moving, lifting, and manipulation of hoses, buckets, pumps, and other parts that require extended standing, lifting, crouching, and walking
  5. Ability to frequently sit, stand, bend, walk, lift, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  6. Heavy physical work including climbing stairs, climbing into tanks, pulling hoses, etc.
  7. Willing to work in wet, hot and cold conditions
  8. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. and push or pull 160 lbs.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $27.00 - $30.00/hour.
