Purpose of this Job:

Responsible for supervising the storage of consumable goods in the warehouse and for the correct selection and packaging of products from the warehouse in accordance with customer orders in the absence of the nightshift supervisor. Ensure proper and secure stacking and shrink wrapping of items to be delivered to customer accounts. Supervise the loading of tractor trailers with appropriate consumables for next day delivery in the absence of the night shift supervisor. Responsible for oversight of the nightshift in the absence of the warehouse manager.

Employee must be of clear mind and diligent while holding this position. There is a high level of severity associated with a critical error in this position and all tasks must be done with precision. Responsible to ensure that all employees follow these safety guidelines.

Food Safety and Quality Statement: This position requires knowledge of and adherence to all food safety regulations and MBI food safety standards and quality standards. Responsible to ensure that all employees adhere to these standards and guidelines. Performs the duties of the Outbound Manager or the Outbound Lead in their absence

Essential Functions of the Job: (in the absence of the warehouse manager)

1. Responsible for adequate coverage of the work area through preparation of the daily schedule and the vacation schedule.

2. Integral in the hiring process through active participation in applicant screening, interviewing, and testing procedures.

3. Responsible for employee compliance to all company policies and procedures done through coaching, counseling, progressive discipline measures, and appropriate guidance and training.

4. Responsible to ensure that all employees in the department are up to date in all necessary and mandatory training, to include but not limited to safety, company procedures, and harassment training.

5. Participation in all departmental safety training programs, safety meetings, and safety committee membership.

6. Accountable for all loss prevention in the department on their shift.

7. Supervise the picking process and pulling of consumable goods for shipment the next morning.

8. Responsible that employees count and verify all pulled products for order accuracy and to identify any damage or breakage of product.

9. Oversee the pallet building; ensuring pallet is built and wrapped to prevent breakage during delivery.

10. Responsible for accurate merging of various products from different areas of the warehouse into one complete order (i.e. tobacco, dry goods, frozen foods).

11. Oversee the packing of loose items into boxes/totes for effective shipment.

12. Ensure that all orders are tagged with proper documentation for customer delivery.

13. Responsible for the loading of properly palletized, tagged, and wrapped pallets onto the tractor trailers for next day delivery using loaders, forklifts, and pallet jacks.

14 Track production and non production time for employees; ensuring that all orders for the night are pulled correctly and secured safely within the assigned time allocation.

15. Responsible to ensure that all supplies, equipment and storage areas are cleaned and maintained to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

16. Responsible for acting and interacting in a professional manner with all staff at all times.

Educational Requirements:

Minimum of a high school education or General Equivalency Diploma.

Number of years Experience:

Minimum one year of warehouse experience. Previous experience and documented mastery of warehouse equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, directions, and labels.

Ability to follow written and verbal directions.

Ability to talk to others (internal customers/coworkers) to convey information effectively and professionally.

Typical Physical and Mental demands of the Job:

Concentration, attentiveness, independent judgment and discretion, manage multiple tasks, read and comprehend instructions and work orders. Must be able to see, hear, bend, stoop and reach, operate vehicles and equipment, stand for long periods of time (10 hours), use hands, lift up to 100 pounds manually, up to 30 pounds 25% of the time, up to 60 pounds 50% of the time, and over 60 pounds 25% of the time. Must be able to maintain constant and steady work speed for entire 10 hour shift.

Work Environment:

Exposed to all degrees of temperatures (from -20 degrees to 80 degrees Fahrenheit).

Average work temperature is 40 degrees for 75% of shift.

Other Considerations:

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and interact professionally with internal and external customers.

Must have the ability to lead, direct, and delegate to employees.
