Shift: Full-Time (40 hrs.) Days, evenings, nights (depending on availability) occasional on call and weekends may be required

Work Location: UM Hospital -Cardiovascular Echo Lab UTower

  • Maintains clean and safe environment by cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, removing dirty linens appropriately, cleaning and preparing patient carts, as well as cleaning and processing endoscopy instruments and equipment.
  • Maintains inventories and communicates needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Obtains and distributes supplies into assigned areas.
  • Maintains a neat and organized work area preventing cluttering of the hallways.
  • Ensures all equipment is kept in designated areas.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with other staff members, physician, patients, and visitors.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and skill in pre cleaning, leak testing, endoscope cleaning and disinfection and storage following established protocols.
  • Maintains quality controls within department. Tears down procedure rooms at end of day and prepares room for next day cases, including restocking of supplies.
  • Transports patients utilizing safe technique.
  • Assists with equipment management by troubleshooting and following-up on all equipment issues.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Performs and assists with inventory supplies, organizing and providing low par levels.
  • Ensures appropriate levels of PPE inventory for procedures and disinfecting.
  • Always maintain Endoscope always reprocessing room tidy, sanitized and clean.
  • Always follows infection control procedures in preparing for and performing disinfection of endoscopes
  • Utilizes safety, knowledge, care in the safe use of pre cleaning and preparing for high level disinfecting of the dirty endoscopes by the TD100 machine.
  • Preparation of Endoscopes for OR, Cath lab, interdepartmental procedures
  • Transport of endoscopes to and from OR, Cath lab by Joint Commission of Accreditation Hospitals standards
  • Maintains clean and safe environment by cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, removing dirty linen appropriately, cleaning and preparing patient carts.
  • Transport patients
  • Turnover room Procedure rooms for next procedure following sanitizing procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
