Description
Position Summary:
Person in this position is responsible for all aspects of education and prevention pertaining to alcohol and substance abuse issues for at-risk and underserved individuals within the community. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Educate all appropriate individuals within the community regarding alcohol and substance abuse issues;
- Educate all appropriate at-risk individuals within the community about alcohol and substance abuse;
- Write required reports and/or provide appropriate data for administrative and reporting needs;
- Ensure that services described in the contract are provided and replicated in the program accordingly;
- Report to the Prevention Coordinator on a once weekly basis;
- Act as an agency representative/liaison with other agencies;
- Assist the Program Coordinator and Director with program design, development and implementation of the Education and Prevention Programs;
- Ensure that all required policies and procedures of WestCare are carried out in the Education and Prevention Programs; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Certifications/Licenses:
- Possession of a valid Drivers License;
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an Annual Tuberculosis test.
- Possess or able to obtain Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card
- Able to pass Arizona Central Registry background check
- As mandated by Presidential Order all employees of WestCare Foundation, Inc. and all affiliates of WestCare Foundation, Inc. will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 effective 11/1/2021. Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required;
- Bachelors Degree in Community Health, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation or related field is preferred; or
- A.A./A.S. Degree in Human Services and one (1) year experience working with at risk populations is preferred.
Experience and Competencies:
- Two (2) years experience working in substance abuse prevention, treatment, health promotion/education, community organizing, or working with youth and /or families;
- Must be able to qualify for WestCare vehicle insurance;
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a level 1 fingerprint clearance card
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in the community;
- Some driving is required; and
- Some outdoor activities may be required.
