OTC Power Plant Specialist

The Opportunity

Ulteig Engineers Project Management team has an opportunity to hire a Once Through Cooling (OTC) Power Plant Specialist based out of Sacramento, California. This position will require extensive knowledge about operations and maintenance of large utility scale boiler turbine-generator units. Recommendations of operations and maintenance activities, to ensure reliability, will be provided. Validation of proposed costs associated with plant operations, maintenance, capital upgrades, permitting, and regulatory compliance will be performed. In some cases, costs will need to be estimated. Consultation and collaboration with financial analysts and project specialists will be necessary. The work will be performed remotely; however, occasional site visits may be required.

What You'll Do

• Attend regular project team meetings
• Provide financial recommendations in format specified by client
• Provide timely feedback during contract negotiations and agreements
• Identify project risk and assist with development of mitigation plans
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Demonstrate excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Maintain customer focus to meet or exceed customer expectations and represent Ulteig in a professional and courteous manner
• Perform work remotely and at the client site

What We Expect from You

• 15 - 20 years of related experience within the power industry
• Technical expertise in large utility boilers (gas, oil) and gas turbine peaking units
• Demonstrate the ability to be organized and provide clear and concise reports/data as required
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be able to travel to project sites as required
• Must have permanent work authorization for the US

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $147,500*
