Children's Internships:

  • Bayside is a partial care program assisting youth, ages 11-17 years old, with emotional and behavioral needs through psycho-education, counseling and support 5 days per week. Bayside's goal is to prevent unnecessary hospitalization or effectively transition youth from hospitalization to successful home and community living. Bayside operates Monday to Friday, September through June from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and July and August from 10:45 am - 4:15 pm. Accepts Bachelor's and Master's Level students.
  • The Family Crisis Intervention Unit offers support to Ocean County Youth ages 10-17 and their families who are experiencing significant challenges. Our aim is to intervene in family conflicts at early stages preventing the need for future legal involvement. Primary goals are to enhance family wellbeing and to strengthen youth community bonds

Adult Clinical Services Internships:

  • Shore Haven Adult Partial Care services provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to individuals with an SPMI diagnosis. This is a step-down from inpatient hospitalization. One of the main goals is to assist and help guide clients in attaining their desired role in their community and life after inpatient hospitalization through skill building and development of healthy coping skills

Residential Services Internships:

  • Keeping Families Together (KFT) is a long-term program aimed to assist DCPP involved families challenged with homelessness/housing instability putting children at risk for out-of-home placement or delaying reunification. KFT utilizes a housing-first model to work with our families in obtaining stable, subsidized housing. The program focuses on the following to help families overcome the obstacles that prevent the family unity they desire: 1) Reunification; 2) Housing Stability; 3) Vocational Counseling; 4) Substance Use Services; 5) Socialization and Self-Sufficiency; 6) Parenting Skills; 7) Strengthening Families Curriculum.

Requirements

All internships must be completed for school credits.
