Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our growing company. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will assist our drivers by diagnosing and repairing issues with trucks performance and function, and regularly preforming routine maintenance tasks.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of the truck's systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining a welcoming environment. As well as keeping our trailers in good running condition.

The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with drivers: able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and provide valuable advice on issues to look out for.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair Trucks coming into the shop
  • Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, tire replacements, and break replacement
  • Trailer repair tasks such as tire replacement, airbag replacement, lighting and other misc. repairs
  • Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes. i.e. BIT and Annual inspections
  • Create repair timelines and convey information to drivers, dispatchers, and operations manager in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • experience as a diesel mechanic required
  • Associate degree or completion of a diesel service technician training program is preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are required
