Restaurant Manager Wage: $48,000-54,000 Annually

Position Summary:
As a restaurant manager, you would be responsible for management of dining room and kitchen service in the manner most pleasing to guests. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality, and service in personnel and cleanliness of assigned areas. Supervise and train staff; manage within budgetary restraints; develop/implement programs to increase revenues (repeat business and higher check averages), while following Suburban Inns, Hilton, local health department standards, and MLCC regulations.

Essential Functions:
  •  Maintain a presence on the floor, interacting with guests, touching tables, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Schedule personnel based upon anticipated guest counts and client needs. Ensure proper staffing for maximum productivity and high standards of quality while understanding that staff levels may need to be cut after peak hours
  • Hold Team Members accountable to the standards of employment and job performance set by the Core Values of Suburban Inns and Sharkee’s Bar & Grill. Discipline Team Members as needed, according to Suburban Inns’ policies
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate Sharkee’s staff
  •  Maintain training records for all Team Members
  • Responsible for sanitation and safety standards. Assure the correct appearance, cleanliness, and safety of dining room areas, equipment, and fixtures. Check the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and kitchen and report deficiencies and maintenance concerns
  • Establish and maintain regular cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Assist in service of guests in restaurant. Expedite food orders and/or assist with cooking on the line during peak service hours.
  • Inspect shift ending clean up on a daily basis
  • Count bar drawers and keno to ensure accuracy
  • Create and maintain make sheets for kitchen as well as coordinate with Director of Food & Beverage
  • Coordinate buffet presentations and any other Sharkee’s events
  • Manage monthly inventories, pricing, cost controls, requisitioning, and issuing for food production while following budgetary guidelines
  • Maintain menu item information and pricing in point of sale system
  • Promote and manage Scorecard program with Team Members and guests
  • Perform sales calls to local establishments in order to increase community awareness and sales volumes
  • Monitor timekeeping system to ensure compliance with posted schedules, making any corrections needed, entering tips, and approving all hours
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings
  • Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
  • Follow all Suburban Inns Processes
  • Other duties as requested by management
Position Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge: Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. May require typing, record keeping, or word processing. Good communication skills
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school degree or equivalent related experience. Two years of experience in front of the house and back of the house food and beverage operations.
License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: ServSafe and TIPS Certification
Work Schedule: Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and/or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs
Required Travel: Position does require travel to other Suburban Inns properties, client locations, or other locations.
