Join the Central California SPCA team and contribute to our mission of promoting responsible pet ownership.

The Veterinary Support Assistant supports the clinic staff by efficiently and accurately collecting and entering data into our shelter management systems. Will also assist with examinations, treating, and caring for animals.

Essential Functions

  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry and maintaining records.
  • Provide medical care and monitor the health and welfare of animals under the direction of veterinarians.
  • Administer treatment, including oral/injectable medications, vaccines, microchips, etc.
  • Assist in observing post-surgery recovery.
  • Cleans and maintains kennels.
  • Process payments.
  • Provide exceptional service to every guest.
  • Work cohesively with all departments to meet the mission, vision, and goals of the CCSPCA.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently.
  • Regularly and predictably attend work in person as scheduled.
  • Basic data entry skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office efficiently at an intermediate level and have basic knowledge of computers.
  • Must be team-orientated with a positive attitude and passionate about providing quality care to animals.
  • Multitasking and accepting constructive criticism is essential.
  • Possess the understanding and dedication to the philosophies of the CCSPCA.

Benefits

Starting Pay $16.50

Full-time position

Monday - Friday ( may be required to work an occasional Saturday)
