As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide rehabilitative care and support to our diverse member population. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for members, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities as prescribed.
- Instruct members in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility.
- Assist members in performing functional activities and tasks to improve their ability to perform daily activities and achieve functional independence.
- Administer modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation under the direction of a physical therapist.
- Educate members and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and home exercise program to promote self-management and optimal outcomes.
- Accurately and timely document member progress, interventions provided, and other relevant information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist physical therapists in conducting initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and ongoing assessments of members' functional status and progress.
- Set up and maintain therapy equipment and assistive devices, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in good working condition.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive member care.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including those related to member privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Successful completion of background check and drug screen.
- Maintain compliance with all Gloria Gates CARE standards, including Conduct, Compliance, and all other policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program that has been approved by CAPTE.
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- 1 plus years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with Medicaid and Medicare populations.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
