Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to join our daycare center and play a key role in nurturing the growth and development of toddlers in our care. As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that fosters early learning experiences for children aged 1 to 3 years old.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
2. Provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere, ensuring the well-being of toddlers through positive interactions and responsive caregiving.
3. Foster positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities and developmental milestones.
4. Create and maintain a well-organized, clean, and child-friendly classroom environment.
5. Observe and assess each child's development, documenting progress and addressing individual needs.
6. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
7. Lead and participate in parent-teacher conferences and other communication channels to ensure open and effective dialogue with parents.
8. Implement and adhere to health and safety policies, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
9. Attend professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
10. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or support staff in the toddler classroom.

Qualifications:
1. CDA, Associates, or TCC in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
2. Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare or educational setting.
3. Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with parents and colleagues.
5. Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with toddlers.
6. CPR and First Aid certification. 10 hours of Health,Safety, and Nutrition
7. Ability to port over BFTS background checks as required by state regulations.

Please understand we are a boutique style childcare center. We’re licensed for 23 children. Meaning you will have a smaller class ratio (1:10).

Duties

  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
  • Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
  • Update parent communication app daily to track progress and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents regularly
  • Collaborate with other staff members
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a toddler Teacher
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
  • Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
  • Certification in child CPR
  • High School Diploma Required
