The Opportunity

Our Nutrition Supply Chain team in Columbus, OH has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their team.

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

  • Led Global Logistics Margin and Profitability Program
  • Responsible for managing multiple complex, cross-functional projects, from beginning to end, with accountability for project execution.
  • Demonstrate stewardship and provide leadership to meet Division strategies and business objectives.
  • Deliver project excellence by incorporating best practices in project management to meet and or exceed customer needs.
  • Perform project/portfolio management and analyses.
  • Provide leadership and develop Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain's (ANSC) focused Supply Chain warehousing and Inventory tracking needs, insuring that plant and third-party operations are managed following division policies and guidelines.
  • Support the procurement and contractual obligations of third-party warehousing space and transportation from all facilities to customers.  
  • Manage and support all warehousing space and racking or other capital requirements to meet LRP space plan.  

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure project scope and success criteria are clearly established; develop and manage project plan to meet deliverables.
  • Initiate, lead and communicate project assessments and lessons learned.
  • Establish clear priorities.
  • Ensure team is working within project scope and effectively coordinate the activities of the team to meet project milestones.
  • Proactively identify changes in project scope and assure appropriate measures are taken to reassess and amend requirements, budget and timeline
  • Create and deliver project review presentations.
  • Work directly with functional area managers to resolve issues that impact completion of project objectives: determine when to escalate issues to appropriate levels of management.
  • Warehouse Management and Strategy
  • Standardization of warehouses processes among all vendors
  • Coordinate with other senior members of Operations, MIS, Engineering and the Supply Chain to define develop and create projects to build functionality necessary to drive improvements and ensure the warehousing business achieves and sustains best-in-class status.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related field required, PMP or equivalent certification desirable
  • Six to ten years of salaried management or equivalent experience in distribution, transportation, manufacturing or a similar environment that also required coordination and communication with salaried management.
  • Supply Chain budget / cost control techniques
  • One to three years working for or managing third party distribution providers
  • Contract negotiation

Preferred

  • Solid financial and budgetary acumen
  • Extensive knowledge of and competency in project management methodology and processes, including planning tasks and allocating resources, risk management, working in teams, issue management, monitoring and reporting, and documentation.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior management
  • Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change
  • Ability to balance strategic and tactical thought and action
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities at once and manage time appropriately
  • Knowledge of warehousing operations, contracts and pricing mechanics
  • Ability to interact with and influence a higher level of management and vendors

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
