Material Handler

Note: Material Handler Position is for our 2nd shift. Hours: 2pm-10:30pm.

Job Scope

Must be a self staring. Must have demonstrated ability to conduct research and problem solving. Accuracy and attention to details important. Strong general math skills required. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to a computer and meets deadlines. Ability to handle multiple task at the same time.

Education

• High school Diploma GED required.
• 1+ years of general office experience required, with prior experience in shipping/receiving preferred.
• On the job training will result in gaining a working knowledge of Eniteo procedures and an in-depth knowledge of Eniteo operating system and its application to the receiving function. Will also gain understanding of Crest Steel business and the materials/products sold.
• Awareness and ability to work safely in plant environment is necessary.

Job Conditions

Fast paced, high activity work environment. Some pressure exists from regular daily deadlines, high volume of 2-way radio activity, changing priorities and/ or interruptions. Department work load distribution accomplished through cooperation of department personnel.

Physical Conditions

Position occasionally requires physical effort lifting not over 50pounds. Sitting/standing at work station for periods of time. Tagging and marking inside the warehouse and outside in the yard. Using trailer ladders to check off trucks and inspect material when needed.

Work Environment

Entry into plant work environment will result in: Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions with no effective protective from the weather. Some work hazard, and steel dust in the air. Hearing protection recommended in some work stations. Some work hazards, and steel dust in the air. Hearing protection recommended in some work stations. Requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to hard hats, and safety glasses as prescribed by the Company PPE policy.
