Position Description:

In this lead acquisitions role, this position is accountable and responsible for sourcing, underwriting, overseeing and executing all facets of our Senior Living and Healthcare acquisitions process on behalf of Foundry Commercial. When the opportunity presents itself, this role will be responsible for development in the Senior Living and Healthcare asset class as well, including site identification, site selection, product concept and design, entitlements and approvals, construction budgets, operating proformas budgets, and financing. The role will work closely with our in-house operating platform, which currently manages 57 assets in 12 states.

We are flexible with the location of the candidate. Ideal locations for the role include Boca Raton, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Raleigh, North Carolina, or an easily accessible location, preferably in the Southeast.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identification and gaining control of new acquisition and business opportunities.
  • Accountable for the underwriting new healthcare opportunities and oversight/execution of the acquisition process.
  • Negotiates proposed deal terms from a variety of debt and equity sources for purposes of determining optimal capital structure.
  • In conjunction with our operating platform, creates and implements a business plan.
  • Effectuates change of ownership process.
  • Interacts with capital partners, lenders and attorneys on day-to-day communications for the investment.
  • Develops relationships with, and regularly communicate with other market participants (investors, operators, developers, lenders, engineers, appraisers, etc.) to maintain knowledge of market conditions and opportunities.
  • Compiles investment packages and manages project through internal investment committee process.
  • Attends conferences and participates in industry events.

Education & Experience Requested:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an appropriate 4-year college program (advanced degree preferred).
  • Typically, 5 plus years of experience in both healthcare and senior living real estate acquisitions experience with strong financial and operations orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead profitable investments from start to finish.
  • Experience working in the Healthcare sector, specifically Senior housing (REIT or private equity investment experience preferred). Has deep industry contacts and connections and can hit the ground running.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial and real estate terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business/investment analyses and reports prepared by subordinates.
  • Understands regulatory and licensing requirements impacting investments in the sector.
  • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
