Job Description
A growing and innovative multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add an Environmental Scientist/NEPA to their Columbus team! The position may potentially be worked with a hybrid office/remote arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop proposals for NEPA projects
- Lead business development efforts for NEPA Program
- Develop/implement a business development plan
- Lead NEPA Project Teams
- Mentor/train NEPA Program team members
- Lead NEPA environmental assessment projects
- Ensure project is in compliance with environmental regulations under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
- Collect/analyze social, economic, and environmental data
- Prepare NEPA documents, reports, regulatory permits/approval in compliance with environmental laws
- Research/make recommendations for new (non-VA) NEPA work
- Lead, create, and implement public involvement activities
- Participate in public/stakeholder meetings
Requirements:
- BS in engineering, planning, science, geology, or related engineering degree
- 8+ years of experience working on NEPA projects, including proposal, report writing, and project implementation
- VA/DoD NEPA experience preferred
- DOT experience preferred
- Experience writing NEPA proposals
- Business development experience
- Experience managing, developing, and leading project teams
- Proficient in technical writing or environmental documents and public involvement/outreach
- Established knowledge of state/federal environmental regulations/guidelines
Salary is commensurate with experience.
