Position Summary

The Proposal Writer will be responsible for assisting with new business development opportunities and "Start to finish proposal development,” including data collection, extensive research, proposal development, and review activities. Provide proposal text and graphics meeting the requirements of customer solicitations and incorporating themes selected by the proposal management team. Will work closely with the corporate team to ensure that proposals are well thought out and represent the best value to our potential customers and LCI.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop proposal materials in accordance with the requirements of the SOW, PWS, RFP, RFI, and/or RFQ.
  • Ensure that proposal plans and approaches of business submissions meet the requirements of the PWS, SOW, RFP, RFI, and/or RFQ.
  • Coordinate/validate "requirements" matrix (shall/will) support data version control final management approval and final distribution.
  • Accomplish tracking, cataloging, and reporting contract amendments and modifications from posting to contract award.
  • Develop graphics for proposals and marketing materials using graphics software packages.
  • Coordinate work assignments to program/project managers and corporate staff.
  • Maintain LCI's library of business development data and resources.
  • Proofread documents for consistency and errors focusing on quality work product.
  • Conduct internal information searches using available research tools.
  • Develop marketing materials.
  • Support marketing and business development events, e.g. expos, trade shows, etc.
  • Provide weekly status
  • Support LCI Core values
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, Management, or IT-related field from an accredited post-secondary school.
  • 1-3 years of experience required in Proposal Development. Familiar experience with Marketing/Business Development tasks/duties.

Skill & Certification Requirements

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products specifically MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong focus on customer service quality and teamwork.
  • Analytical capability to evaluate information and data and conduct extensive research using multiple resources.
  • Demonstrated experience developing graphics for proposals, brochures, reports, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively and coherently compose text and publication materials involving technical and professional services.
  • Strong time/project management and organization skills and the ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work long and varying hours (when needed) to meet fixed deadlines.
  • Ability to learn technical information quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple ongoing projects.
