Our focus is on improving the health and well-being of all individuals by offering inpatient, outpatient and rural health clinic services to the Glenn County community.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for breakfast, noon meals, and dinner to be served at stated times. Must attend menu conferences and plan food quantities to meet serving needs of the residents. Clean and wash small equipment. Must keep work area clean. Clean stove, steamer, slicer, blenders and others. Cook is responsible for checking menus for thawing of meat. Supervise dietary aides. The Cook must set up steam table for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Must report to Food Service Manager, any problems with staff, food needs or any other irregularities. All other duties may be assigned by Food Service Manager.

The role of the cook is to prepare food for our residents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or equivalent. Quantity food preparation experience preferred. Prior experience demonstrating the ability to work with the public in a positive and friendly manner is desired. Must have knowledge of kitchen equipment. Must be able to read, write and speak English as well as understand and follow written and oral directions.

 

JOB DUTIES:
Review menus prior to preparation of food.
Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Food Service Manager
Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
Work with the facility’s dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
Process diet changed and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
