Automotive Assistant Manager

Position Overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for performing all Center Manager function in the Managers absence and generally acting as second-in-command at the center. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the successful operation of a Grease Monkey center using customer and employee relations skills, business management techniques, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage customers in a professional manner throughout their experience
• Review Service Order Ticket with customers at check-out and encourage their feedback
• Assist with employee hiring and performance evaluations
• Provide training to new employees and routine employee training sessions
• Schedule employees for effective center coverage
• Assist with payroll and maintain employee files
• Monitor maintenance, safety, and inventory reports
• Resolve customer complaints and damage claims
• Assist with oil change and other shop duties

Qualifications

• Skills: Business Management, Employee Relations, Customer Service, Intermediate Computing skills
• Basic literacy (ready, writing, math skills); Verbal communication skills
• Ability and licensed to operate motor vehicles; Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools
• Previous experience managing a retail automotive center or related experience is valuable but not required
