Summary: The IT Technician is responsible for providing support to end users for problems concerning network communication, workstations, windows terminals, and associated peripherals. The IT Technician is also responsible for the daily administration of Windows servers and communications equipment. In addition to daily tasks, the IT Technician will be responsible for completing projects varying in scope and complexity. This position serves internal customers/employees and must ensure that customer service is optimal for end-users.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

Printers and Toner Service:

? Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot office printers, scanners, and related equipment.

? Monitor printer supplies, including toner, paper, and ink cartridges, and ensure timely replenishment.

? Address and resolve printer-related issues promptly to minimize disruption.

Helpdesk Management:

? Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related inquiries, problems, and requests.

? Prioritize and manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of user issues.

? Provide responsive and professional support to end-users, guiding them through technical problems and delivering effective solutions.

Endpoint Patch Management:

? Administer and maintain the patch management system (e.g., Patch Manager Plus) for endpoints.

? Ensure all devices and software applications are regularly updated with the latest patches and updates to enhance security and performance.

? Schedule and implement regular patch deployments with minimal disruption to user experience.

Purchasing and Asset Management:

? Procure IT equipment, software, and supplies as needed.

? Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and equipment, logging their details, including purchase date, location, and status.

? Implement asset tracking and control processes to optimize resource allocation.

Level 1 and Level 2 Support:

? Provide level 1 and level 2 technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

? Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to higher-level support as necessary.

Office 365 Troubleshooting and Management:

? Assist with troubleshooting and managing Office 365 applications, user accounts, and email services.

? Ensure efficient and secure usage of Office 365 tools.

Wireless Network Management:

? Maintain and troubleshoot wireless network infrastructure, ensuring optimal connectivity.

? Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement necessary improvements.

Hardware Troubleshooting:

? Conduct hardware diagnostics and repairs as needed, ensuring the functionality of computer systems, peripherals, and devices.

GPO/DNS/AD Management:

? Administer and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPO) to enforce security policies and configurations.

? Manage DNS settings, including DNS servers, domain names, and records for network resolution.

? Maintain and support Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and domain controllers.

Attending Conferences:

? Attending relevant IT conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Wireless Warehouse Management System:

? Support and manage the wireless warehouse management system, ensuring its reliability and efficiency for inventory control.

Participate in IT Roundtable Discussions:

? Collaborate with colleagues in IT roundtable discussions to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and contribute to IT strategy and decision-making.

Documentation:

? Create and update documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.

? Maintain detailed records of IT-related tasks and changes within the IT planning system.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position expected to work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour lunch that is flexible based on phone coverage requirements.


Salary: Starting at $21.00/hour


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Requirements:

Education and Technical Skills Needed:

• Prefer an associate degree in IT or certificate from IT Technical Program

• Experience working in a Microsoft Windows workstation and server environment.

• Familiar with VMWare server management and maintenance

• Familiar with Networking basics (IP Assignments, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls)

• Familiar with Help Desk software, ticketing

• Familiar with LaserJet Printers/Scanners

• Microsoft Office 365

• Microsoft SharePoint

• Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy

• SQL, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
