Come be a swim instructor at the Oakland YMCA and teach children how to be safe in, on, and around the water!
NO CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED. We will train you. However, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Minnow or ARC Level 4 Swimming Level).
We are currently hiring part-time lifeguards and/or swim instructors. We are looking for adaptable, reliable, energetic individuals who can work 5-25 hours/week in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
We are currently looking for swim instructor applicants with availability either Mon/Wed afternoons (4:15-7pm), T/TH afternoons (4:15-7pm), and/or Saturdays (10:45am-2:00pm).
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Excellent customer service skills
Patience and ability to communicate with members of all ages and backgrounds
Professional demeanor-punctual and consistent
Fully vaccinated (including booster)
Compensation:
$19.00-20.00/hour DOE

Minimum Qualifications for Swim Instructors:
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer (within 30 days of hire)
- Standard First Aid (within 30 days of hire)
- Demonstrated ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Minnow or ARC Level 4 Swimming Level)
