This position is responsible for cultivating new qualified sales leads while effectively maintaining and nurturing relationships with current customers. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded. This role will involve a combination of sales, account management, and customer service duties to drive revenue growth and foster long-term client solutions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the flooring industry. Assist in generating leads, qualify prospects, and build a strong pipeline of potential clients.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct cold calls, meetings, and presentations to pitch company products and services, emphasizing their value propositions.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of various flooring materials, such as carpet, laminate, tile, and vinyl. Stay updated on industry trends, product advancements, and installation techniques. Provide expert guidance and consultative selling to clients, helping them make informed decisions.
  • Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to expand professional networks and promote company products and services. Develop relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and other industry professionals to generate referrals and business opportunities.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with existing clients, service as their dedicated point of contact and subject matter expert.
  • Understand their flooring needs, provide product recommendations, and offer solutions to tailor solutions that address specific customer needs.
  • Proactively address any issues or concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively communicate with clients to provide updates on projects, address concerns, and gather feedback.

Sales Pipeline Management:

  • Manage the sales pipeline by tracking leads, opportunities, and prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Utilize NetSuite (CRM) to document client interactions, maintain accurate records, and forecast sales projections.
  • Follow up on leads promptly, quality prospects, and prioritize activities to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, including sales performance, pipeline updates, and revenue forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations to management for sales growth.

Proposal Development and Negotiation:

  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and contracts in collaboration with the sales team, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client needs.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, pricing, and timelines to secure profitable deals while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Address objections and overcome barriers to close sales opportunities effectively.

Customer Retention and Upselling:

  • Proactivity engages with existing clients to foster loyalty and retention, identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services.
  • Monitor client satisfaction levels through surveys, feedback sessions, and regular check-ins, taking corrective action as necessary.

Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitors' activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.

Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. This educational background provides candidates with a foundational understanding of business principles and sales strategies.

Proven Sales Success: A demonstrated track record of success in sales, particularly within the flooring industry or a related field, is highly desirable. This includes exceeding sales targets, securing new business, and maintaining strong client relationships.

B2B/B2C Sales Experience: Experience in both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) sales environments is valuable. Candidates should showcase their ability to adapt sales techniques to different customer segments and effectively communicate product benefits.

Customer Service Mindset: A strong customer service mindset is essential for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Candidates should be able to promptly address customer needs, resolve issues, and deliver exceptional service to clients.
