Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our Maintenance Helper position with our logistics organization at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. Maintenance Helper's purpose is to support maintenance and management in completing tasks designed to reduce downtime, costs, quality defects, and safety issues. The Maintenance Helper will work directly with maintenance personal, improving maintenance response time and repair time while simultaneously improving his/her own maintenance skills.

Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman, the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brands.

  • Assist with machine and/or facilities upkeep and organization, etc.
  • Clean floors onsite equipment, tools and floor scrubbers
  • Mix cleaning solutions according to ration instructions to use with cleaning machines/equipment
  • Load, unload and transfer materials/products as needed
  • Works with Maintenance group painting projects and repairing damages to walls
  • Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facilities building, clean out stations and grounds
  • Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling and supplies
  • Perform scrubber inspections including daily weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks
  • Prepare reports and forms as needed
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards

Nature & Scope:

  • Works within well-defined instructions

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Mechanical – technical ability including basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to handle different sets of hand tools – manual and powered operated
  • Ability to operate tugger, forklift and floor scrubber
  • Familiar with measuring tools and gauges
  • Ability to use basic math for measuring both solids and liquids
  • Familiar with basic painting techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret operation, safety and maintenance manuals
  • Attention to detail and quality including awareness of surroundings
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English – effective communication skills
  • Minimum computer skills – MS Office – Outlook and Excel including data entry
  • Ability to get along well, communicate timely and accurately with co-workers and supervisors
  • Familiar with manufacturing and maintenance safety practices including PPE requirements
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including working up to a 5 to 7-day work week occasionally

Experience:

  • 0-2 years

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Successful completion of in-house Tugger/Forklift training & certification

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Manufacturing environment – must wear required PPE and operate industrial powered equipment
