The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $114,341 - $129,366 with a Nursing stipend of $29,729 - $33,635.

About the role:

The Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Programs provides leadership and administration of the College's Nursing and Allied Health Programs. This position supports the delivery of instruction and student success by directly overseeing the instructional, fiscal and personnel operations of the nursing and allied health programs within the College's Instructional Division. The Dean has budgetary authority and responsibility for recruiting and hiring of full and part-time faculty, classified, and professional exempt staff and is responsible for maintaining the relevancy of curriculum in alignment with the Washington State Department of Health, College and program accreditation, and College requirements. The Dean of Nursing works closely with program chairs, faculty, and staff to achieve instructional goals. This position also works closely with external stakeholders, such as hospitals, clinics, transfer colleges and universities, and other partners to develop and implement new and continuing program initiatives.

What you will be doing:

The following functions and responsibilities will be accomplished by working with the Instructional Leadership Team, as well as directors, coordinators, faculty, and staff in the Division of Nursing and Allied Health

    Provides college-wide transformative leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the Division of Nursing and Allied Health in alignment with the institution's mission, vision, guiding principles, and accrediting bodies.
  • Builds cohesion between departments.
  • Implements a continuous improvement culture that leverages course survey data, quality assurance feedback, faculty and instructor feedback, and other sources of input.
  • Establishes and implements the Division's mission, vision, and objectives, as well as its work plan to ensure alignment with the institution's Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborates with various instructional divisions, i.e., Workforce, Access and Opportunity, Arts & Sciences, Corrections Education, and Clarkston Campus.
  • Manages, schedules, supervises, and evaluates all Division employees (faculty and/or staff) in accordance with institutional and state requirements.
  • Develops and implements, in collaboration with the Vice President of Instruction, policies and procedures that ensure compliance with FERPA and NC-SARA, as well as provision of relevant and quality instruction.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in implementation, maintenance and compliance with program accreditation requirements for all programs in Nursing and Allied Health.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with faculty and staff to effectively and efficiently administer programmatic policies, procedures, and opportunities.
  • Prepares recommendations for and administers the Division's budget, oversees all expenditures for goods, services, and personnel, in collaboration with the Vice President of Instruction.
  • Remains current in national, regional, and local trends related to Nursing and Allied Health.
  • Convenes Nursing Advisory Council meetings, and various Allied Health Advisory Council meetings, as required.
  • Oversees faculty adoption and implementation of curriculum revisions, including opportunities for new courses or programs, to meet on-going industry needs.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of Clinical Affiliation Agreements with clinical agencies used for student practicums and internships.
  • Participates on College committees.
  • Represents WWCC by attending statewide nursing educator meetings.

What we would like to see from you:

  • Graduate degree in a health profession field from an accredited institution of higher education recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Five years' of health science compliance experience to meet state and national accreditation requirements.
  • Two years' teaching experience in a health degree program; adjunct instructor may count toward the requirement.
  • Two years' experience in higher education leadership role (Department Chair, Director, etc.).
