Assistant Wine Sales Associate

Ale, Wine and Spirits of Powell, AWS, is a growing small business which strives to deliver excellence in this fun and thriving retail space. We are currently looking to add a position to our wine department to support our growth.

POSITION SUMMARY: Looking for a wine enthusiast to join us, the Assistant Sales Associate will promote AWS brand by delivering best-in-class service and bringing to life a distinctive world of wine, beer, & spirits for our customers. Successful candidate will create a sales and service culture within the store to expand our customer base and maximize profitability.

You will assist in creating a sales and service culture within the store to expand our customer base and maximize profitability. You’ll be responsible for assisting customers, building merchandising displays; maintain inventory on the shelves and in the cold box.

Position responsibilities include:

· Ensure customer needs are met, provide knowledgeable recommendations

· Oversee special orders; ensure they are filled and customers pick-up

· Ensure all pricing is correct on displays

· Build and merchandise displays, fill shelves and cold boxes, rotate vintages

· Establish and maintain rapport with customers and other store personnel

· Effectively work with minimal supervision

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous sales experience preferred, but not required

• Candidate must: be at least 21 years of age • Must possess a current drivers license; maintain current auto insurance coverage and a clean driving record

• Able to repetitively lift a minimum of 50 lbs; be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and lift repetitively

• Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and listening skills are required

• This position requires the availability to work flexible hours and weekends, when necessary, for special events

• Must be self-motivated, willing to work hard, and strive to learn more. Must have a passion and excitement for wine and maintain a high level of integrity
