Production Supervisor 2nd Shift

SVS Group currently has a direct hire opportunity for a Production Supervisor with one of our Aerospace clients in the W. Phoenix area. This is a 2nd shift full time/ direct hire.

Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Supervise and coordinate work activities of production workers.
• Coordinate and enforce policies, procedures and standards.
• Interfaces and communicates with other departments in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Develops, recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and the overall quality of product.
• Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
• Oversees training of all direct reports and ensures training records are complete.
• Analyze work orders, work piece, and work instructions to determine process, equipment, and operator requirements.
• Assign tasks to workers and specify methods of coordinating work flow to meet production schedules and anticipate varying needs.
• Works within a designated office area to complete administrative managerial tasks such as annual performance reviews, approving timecards, and disciplinary actions for the department.
• Performs analysis in determination of root causes for problems and defects and implements corrective actions.
• Manage time cards and time off request (PTO) in company HRIS system.
• Make sure all employees are working safely and accurately.
• Accurate and timely reporting of any and all safety incidents within a 24 hour period.

Education and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• 3+ years of experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
• Experience driving continuous improvement. Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Forklift operator certified preferred, but not required
• General proficiency of Microsoft Office.
