Design Engineer

This Design Engineer Position Features:
Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to support production, by ensuring timely completion of 3D modeling for client projects. Most client projects are for aircraft hangars.

Responsibilities and Deliverables of the Role

In this position, you will:
• Design and standardize parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software
• Produce shop drawings and Bill of Materials for production and procurement
• Prototype and test designed parts before standardizing the parts and assemblies for manufacturing
• Take on or be part of any other technical/engineering project needed to progress our goals

Job Required Competencies

• Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• At least one successful engineering internship with a reputable company
• High proficiency in 3D modeling (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
• Flexibility to be prepared to travel at least 1-2 weeks each quarter as we typically install our system at our client's sites all over the US.
Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
Software experience: must have AutoCAD Inventory / Solid works – autoworks / 3D background / CATIA, Creole – 3D modelling (expert user)
Years of experience: 5+yrs
Experience: someone whos’ worked within a design team, enjoy the most recent software packages, managed deadlines / equipment design / project design
Skills: Building assemblies , equipment design, tool design , heavy design is a huge plus , enjoys testing products
• Streamline, accelerate completion, and improve the quality of the creation of general arrangement drawings that are part of design submittals to our clients, shop drawings, and prototyping different features and solutions for unique hangar applications.
Ensure drawings and 3D models are modelled according to our best practices, are properly reviewed.
