The #1 auto manufacturing company in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and modification of automotive manufacturing and test equipment. The primary objective is to enhance systems uptime and reliability while overseeing equipment modifications for process changes, new models, and expansions. Additionally, this role involves the maintenance and updating of all process documentation, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and demonstrating a commitment to safe work practices.

Specific Requirements:

• Associate Degree in a technical manufacturing discipline and 2 years of automation/PLC controls with industrial maintenance, mechanical, electronic systems & PC controls. OR
• High school diploma/GED and 2 years technical maintenance experience PLUS 2 years automation/PLC controls with industrial maintenance, mechanical, electronic systems & PC controls (4 years total experience).
• Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify automotive manufacturing and test equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability.
• Oversee equipment modifications for process changes, new models, and expansions.
• Maintain and update all process documentation.
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to employ safe work practices.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be highly flexible and adaptable to changes.
• Willingness to work overtime and holidays as needed.
• Must be available for A and B shift.
• Successful completion of a computer-based technical knowledge assessment and a hands-on electrical troubleshooting proficiency test working with live current.
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the plant. Relocation assistance is available for those who reside outside the 75-mile radius.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of closed-loop servo systems.
• Experience in design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sequential processes.
• Familiarity with high-level programming languages.
• Proficiency in interfacing controls, processes, and feedback devices.
• Experience with Human/Machine interface devices and associated software.
• Knowledge in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AC variable frequency drives.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in three-phase power, pneumatic controls, and Siemens PLC S7 experience is highly desirable.
