GIS Business Analyst, Scrum Master

DMI, LLC is seeking a GIS Business Analyst, Scrum Master to join us.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collecting and analyzing requirements: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications.
• Modeling business processes: Create process models that incorporate spatial data and technology.
• Spatial analysis: Use GIS tools to analyze patterns, relationships, and trends.
• Infographics and visualizations: Create maps, charts, and other visual representations to communicate insights effectively.
• Scrum Master: Assist their team using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver requirements as well as scheduling and facilitating Agile Scrum Ceremonies such as Product Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.

Education and Years of Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, or a related field.
• 5 years' work experience in GIS analysis and business analysis.
• Certified Scrum Master (Preferred)

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and other GIS tools and Utilities; knowledge of GIS modeling and familiarity with spatial application development techniques and geographic data design.
• Knowledge of spatial databases, geospatial analysis, and mapping techniques.
• Ability to work with geospatial data formats.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving abilities to address business challenges using spatial data.
• Understanding of GIS market dynamics and industry trends.
• Working knowledge of agile management tools such as JIRA.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Visio or a similar tool, and PowerPoint
