Design West Technologies Inc. of Tustin, CA has an immediate need for a full-time CNC Operator. You will operate computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to produce aluminum parts of simple to high complexity with high accuracy and adherence to quality standards. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CNC OPERATOR AT DWT

You will ensure company procedures and "best machine practices" are in place at all times, check for machine readiness to ensure functionality & performance, complete general maintenance as needed, including removal/replacement of worn tooling, operate a variety of CNC machines, load & unload materials from machines, verify quantity & conformance of finished work order to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, upkeep deburr area, ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders and assist machinists as needed. All employees of the company are expected to adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, policies and laws.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Basic math and counting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, measuring tools and methods.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and effectively communicate with machinists and supervisor
  • Ability to read and understand a variety of drawings, manuals, work instructions, tooling instructions, blueprints or work orders

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
  • Frequently required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, depth perception, and adjust focus
