Job Description of Environmental, Health and Safety Construction Manager

An immediate need for an experienced environmental, health and safety construction professional in the Columbus, OH area working on a data center build. The candidate will be credentialed (e.g. – BS, MS, OSHA 30, OSHA 510, OSHA 500, ASP, GSP, CSP, CHST, STSC, etc.).

The safety professional will work directly for the Construction Manager overseeing a large commercial expansion project.

  • Oversee the safety compliance for the project
  • Conduct documented daily safety inspections
  • Deliver site specific project safety orientations
  • Assist with coordinating crane activities
  • Participate in the Daily Hazard Analysis process
  • Investigate incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective and preventative actions
  • Work closely with the project leadership teams to assist with facilitating and injury free workplace
  • Collect and analyze leading and lagging indicators to determine trends and put actions into place to address concerns
  • Review safety plans and assist with plan development when needed
  • Ensure contractors are adhering to their safety plans
  • Make certain craft workers are appropriately trained for their required tasks
  • Partner with trade contractor safety professionals and manage the project safety leadership team
  • Act as liaison with the client’s risk management team
  • Deliver various safety training modules
  • Assist in managing a positive reinforcement program

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in safety specializing in construction
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products
  • OSHA 30 Construction

Education/Certification

  • BS/MS in a related field
  • OSHA 500/510
  • ASP/GSP/CSP/CHST/STSC
