Staff Accountant

HOIST Fitness Systems, a leading manufacturer of fitness strength equipment has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable: Invoicing, payment application, AR statement reconciliation, review, and payment follow up; and deposit entries
• Accounts Payable: 3-way match, direct shipments, bill entry, bill payment application, check runs, ACH payments, AP Statement reconciliation, review, and payment follow-up
• General Ledger: Journal entries (EOM, Adjusting, Reclass); bank transaction entry, account reconciliations, financial statement review & analysis; audit support & documentation, financial reporting, ad-hoc projects, and reporting
• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Work closely with team members on the month-end close, including, but not limited to, reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
• Assist with the annual audit process
• Effectively communicate interdepartmentally regarding Accounting matters
• Research and analyze expense variances for company management
• Look for opportunities to improve current practices and procedures
• Assist with preparing weekly cash, a/r, a/p, p/o reports
• Assist with preparing and analyzing financial statements
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
• 2+ years' of professional accounting experience
• Detail oriented and organized
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team
• Ability to work effectively and independently and to exercise sound judgment and discretion
