LC State invites applications for the position of Financial Manager.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $56,000 - $60,000

Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university

Required Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  2. Demonstrated progressively responsible financial management experience
  3. Experience preparing financial reports and analyses

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field.
  2. Experience using an enterprise resource planning system (ERP)
  3. Experience with capital asset and depreciation accounting.
  4. Experience in streaming operations to move towards a paperless environment.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the college's fixed assets, accounts payable, travel, and federal tax compliance operations and reports to the Controller. This position supervises the accounts payable area. This position also assists the college with financial statement review. The Controller's and Budget offices are a component of Financial Services that is part of the Administrative Services college unit. The departments work together to manage the financial aspects of the institution.

Training will be provided.

  1. Supervision of the Accounts Payable area.
  2. Prepare internal financial reports.
  3. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements including workpapers for bonds, fixed assets and depreciation, leases, and SBITAs.
  4. Collaborate with Accounts Payable and the State of Idaho to process or collect banking funds for institutional payments or receipts. Such as assisting with requesting and sending funds to the State of Idaho and entering invoices for reimbursement.
  5. Record plant fund accounting, capital assets and depreciation, and State of Idaho DPW construction projects.
  6. Assist with the development and communication of business policies and internal controls.
  7. Work with external and internal auditors.
  8. Work with the Purchasing department to facilitate the accounting side of the procurement card system such as processing the P-Card upload into the ERP system.
  9. Review and approve various payments in the state LUMA payroll system.
  10. Assist in the preparation of federal tax forms including the 990, 990T, and form 1099s.
  11. Report unclaimed property to the state of Idaho on an annual basis.
  12. Create and process journal entries.
  13. Oversee the travel expense process.
  14. Not a primary role, but a backup for maintaining the general ledger and GL security and performing monthly and annual general ledger closings.

Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support the recruitment and retention of students.
