The Sales Operations Manager is the architect of the future of Nomad’s Sales Process, responsible for transforming sales operations into a competitive advantage, while leveraging data and automation to drive exponential growth across verticals.


Essential Functions / Responsibility:

The goal of Sales Operations is to reduce friction by streamlining and optimizing the process.  This role empowers the Sales Team to have more meaningful interactions with customers, ultimately leading to increased sales and improved win rates, while ensuring data is accurate and readily available to different teams across the organization.


Strategic

  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop a strategic operations plan aligned with overall company goals.
  • Guide Vertical Sales Managers to create in-depth market research and analysis, find new sales opportunities, and develop targeted go-to-market strategies.
  • Translate insights into actionable sales strategies, enabling data-driven decision making for the Sales Team and company leadership.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on industry trends and competitor activity, proactively identifying emerging markets, opportunities, and threats.
  • Develop call qualification strategies to uncover customer procurement timelines and pinpoint potential differentiators that resonate with them.

People

  • Lead a team of Sales Specialists to enable more frequent and meaningful Sales Team interactions with customers.
  • Foster a data-driven culture by collaborating with Marketing to develop compelling content and nurture leads.
  • Train the Sales Team to efficiently use systems.
  • Lead onboarding for new sales employees.
  • Serve as a liaison among teams to bridge communication gaps, maintaining timely and transparent information flow.
  • Act as a Nomad ambassador, embodying the values and vision of the company in all interactions.

Process

  • Optimize the Team’s use of HubSpot to gain customer insight without sacrificing momentum.
  • Design and implement sales forecasting models that predict pipeline health and revenue with exceptional accuracy.
  • Implement process automation where appropriate to free up salespeople for higher-value activities, such as building stronger relationships with customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and facilitate a sales training program to ensure the team is providing a consistent customer experience.
  • Coordinate trips, tradeshows, and Demo logistics to maximize company ROI.
  • Partner with leadership and Vertical Managers to define, track, and meet KPIs.

Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Understand the significance of the Nomad Core Values and apply them.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the sales cycle, including prospecting, qualifying, presenting, and closing deals.
  • Be familiar with common sales methodologies.
  • Demonstrate fluency in key sales metrics such as conversion rates, average deal size, and sales pipeline value for performance tracking.
  • Be proficient in using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage sales data and automate tasks.
  • Have a working knowledge of sales enablement tools for content management, training, and coaching to empower the Sales Team.
  • Project management skills are a plus for planning, executing, and monitoring sales operations initiatives.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
  • The expectation of travel as required supporting marketing objects, to attend seminars, promotions, etc. Travel will be at least 50%.

Working Environment:

  • Typical indoor office environment, long periods of computer-related work, constant interruptions, and high levels of stress at times.
  • The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time.
  • The employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals that will require the employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by SDS.
  • All Team Members must wear OSHA-approved safety glasses and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales operations or a strategic sales enablement role.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in leveraging data to optimize sales performance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in the ETO (Engineer-to-Order) manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of the company's target market and the industry landscape.
  • Possess basic financial literacy to connect sales activities to financial outcomes through concepts like bookings, revenue, margins, and profitability.
