Crucial Link is hiring Tool and Die Maker in Cleveland, 44135!
Pay Rate: $20-25/hr depending on experience.
Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm, occasional OT
ABSOLUTELY NO Criminal History
MINIMUM 5 years of experience in Tool and Die Making REQUIRED
Preferred: Journeyman Tool and Die Maker or Certified Tool and Die Maker
Temp to Hire – This will become a full-time job with benefits for the right person!
Objective: The primary purpose of this position is to plan, construct, and maintain tooling for the manufacturing process to meet business objectives.
The Tool and Die Maker is selected by, and reports to, the Tool Room Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary functional duties and responsibilities of the Tool and Die Maker include:
- Instrumental in the planning and construction of highly intricate tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges with extremely close tolerances.
- Produces intricate tools from rough sketches detailed drawings and/or blueprints.
- Diagnose problems with new or existing tooling, present solutions to foreman for final decision and implements the necessary changes.
- Perform bench and machine operations necessary to construct, alter, or repair a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and gages of complex design to very close tolerances.
- Understands ISO 9001:2000 policies and record keeping pertaining to work area.
- Understands and uses the company’s safety policies and procedures, appropriate safety and protection equipment, and safety practices appropriate to the assigned work unit.
- Assembles, debugs tooling components and details.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Tool Room Manager.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: The primary functional duties and responsibilities of the Tool and Die Maker include:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, precision measuring instruments and customer specific documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from various associates.
- Comprehensive knowledge of our Company’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Ability to listen courteously and effectively communicate in a clear professional manner, in English, both verbal and written, to create a positive working environment.
- Ability to operate various computer programs found in a warehouse environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 requirements and work instructions as it relates to the Company.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Hearing - must be able to respond to face-to-face interactions and other sounds related to the Tool Room department.
- Vision – near vision to type on computer, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and the ability to analyze the quality of goods.
- Repetitive use of hands, wrists and fingers on grinders and various machine tools.
- Walking and climbing stairs to deliver and pick up materials, attend meetings, etc.
- Sits for intermittent periods of time.
- Lifts/carriers/pushes and/or pulls 75 pounds with regularity.
- Stands/stoops/crouches when needed.
Working Conditions: This position will be working primarily indoors and/or may also require the employee to occasionally be outdoors on a regular basis. From this movement, the employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.
Job Performance Measurement: The Tool and Die Maker shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:
- The Tool Room Manager is kept apprised of interrelated activities within the company.
- Accurate and timely reports, as requested, documenting Tool Room activities are submitted to the Tool Room Manager.
- Area is properly maintained, cleaned and maintained according to the established schedule.
- Understands Company policies and procedures.
- Other tasks assigned by the Tool Room Manager are performed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
- The perceived degree of satisfaction by the Tool Room Manager.
