CNC Programmer and Setter Position Overview:

Program and Set-Up various CNC machines.

CNC Programmer and Setter Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC Programs
  • Set up CNC machines.
  • Develop CNC machining process for new projects.
  • Maintain effectiveness and efficiency of the production schedule.
  • Selecting cutting tools and work-holding tools for new projects
  • Provide training to machine operators for each new set up/process.
  • Maintain and improve daily productivity.
  • Update and modify outdated programs, implement latest cutting techniques, and lean methodology.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine errors, program errors.
  • Maintain quality and safety control standards.
  • Work effectively with other departments to achieve the common goal.

Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years set up experience in house or previous employer.
  • Programming: in-house training and trade school or minimum 2 years programming experience with Swiss Screw machines
  • 5 years min Swiss Screw Machine operation experience
  • In-house QSP training
