Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The bartender is responsible for making, mixing, pouring and/or creating alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for the guests of the bar and restaurant. The bartender is successful in working in a fast-paced environment and always goes the extra mile to keep guests happy, consistently providing guests with the highest quality of service. The bartender reports directly to the Guest Experience Manager & Assistant General Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions to guests as necessary
· Take drink (and sometimes food) orders from guests seated at the bar or from servers
· Input orders into the POS system
· Prepare guests drinks as ordered
· Slice fruit for garnishing drinks
· Clean bar and arrange glasses for an attractive bar display
· Prepare bill and accept payment from guests
· Open and maintain proper tabs for guests throughout the shift
· Clear or reset the bar after each guest leaves
· Record and balance receipts and prepare proper cash drawer deposits at the end of each shift
- Verify the identification and age of guests
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
· Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
· Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
· Valid certification for serving alcohol
- Must be at least 21 years of age
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS/OTHER
· Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
· Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
· Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, and stand
· Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic
