Job Summary: This role provides leadership and direction to the Press /Stamping Department in regard to meet or exceed customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Knowledge of automotive industry processes and operations
  • Responsible for Supervising Assembly Department roles; Team Leaders, Production Associates, Trainers and Material Handlers, to ensure the appropriate training, coaching and discipline is given to ensure high performance of tasks to meet scheduled requirements
  • Identify, record and report quality nonconformance's and escalate to Quality Manager. Prevent further processing, assembly or delivery of non-conforming product
  • Develop production planning, communicates responsibilities, establish production time line and ensure intent results is achieved for own department
  • Address all quality related problems and provide prompt resolutions and recommendations so as to minimize production interruption
  • Ensure that raw materials and products are dispersed or consumed based on FIFO and customers requirements
  • Ensure that product identification, traceability, process control, packaging instructions are being followed at all times
  • Analyze machine downtime to identify and provide resolutions on all mechanical problems
  • Minimize costs of operating through proper planning and efficient use of all available resources
  • Participate in internal quality audits to determine the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Search out, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Assist plant leadership in driving and accomplishing key performance indicators
  • Assist in the hiring process and new associate orientation.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Community College courses in Business related discipline preferred
  • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of assembly processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Strong attention to detail and dexterity
  • Experience with measuring equipment
  • Strong coordinating and organizing skills
