Dockmaster

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sets and provides the highest level of customer/guest services and expedites any and all requests from vessels.

2. Schedules and manages all dockhands in marina related duties such as securing boats, fuel, black water pump outs, connecting and monitoring utility services, and waste disposal. Leads the dockhands by example.

3. Manages fueling operations at the marina, ensures safe re-fueling procedures.

4. Performs daily inspection of the docks, works with maintenance manager in scheduling general repair and maintenance of the docks in order to maintain safety and cleanliness standards and to identify issues requiring maintenance, repair or replacement.

5. Routinely operates, motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment

6. Provides daily/weekly reports to General Manager.

7. Maintains a friendly, professional working relationship with co-workers, members, guests and vendors.

8. Provides general security and supports marina and facility service teams in their security related efforts; reports disturbances in the dock area as needed.

9. Demonstrates safe work habits at all times, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.

10. Maintains records of all work activities and support materials.

11. Provides safe disposal of all waste material.

12. All other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High School degree or equivalent

2. A broad knowledge of marina operations, boat lifting, boat handling and towing, and equipment maintenance

3. Proven skills or the willingness to be trained in administration, seamanship, communication, equipment maintenance and marina operations

4. Understanding of common marina operational documentation such as agreements, contracts, terms and conditions, marina regulations and must be able to analyze them

5. A positive attitude, the ability to communicate proficiently, and ability to relate to customers in a luxury environment

6. Requires excellent interpersonal skills

7. The ability to manage and motivate staff

8. Must have high standards, high level of accuracy, and a keen eye for detail

9. Must be an excellent swimmer

10. Must have a boater’s license

11. Ability work independently to achieve goals and targets

12. Ability to organize and prioritize work

13. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals

14. Must thrive in a fast paced environment

15. Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season
